My name is Meg, from the blog Twisted Tree and I am so excited to be apart of Lindsay's very first blog party! I guess for those of you who don't know me I will tell you a little bit about myself...I am a SAHM of 3 beautiful children and married to the most perfect man, I started blogging in December if 2009 and since then I have met so many talented and amazing friends ( just like Lindsay)! Last December I picked up a pair of knitting needles and got a short lesson on knitting, after that I was hooked...I knitted away on hair accessories with the dream of opening up my very own Etsy shop...in February of 2010 that dream became a reality when I opened up Twisted Tree the Shop, you can check it out here!
Lately I've been in a bit of a creative rut, not picking up my needles in months...I've have been pretty busy these past few months, in the form of a beautiful little girl we call "Toots", as well as a 6 and 8 year old. So, for myself and for those of you reading this post here are some photos and a few inspirational quotes to help inspire us all...
The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success.
~Henry Ward Beecher~
The best way out is always through.
~Robert Frost~
Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions.
~Albert Einstein~
When one door closes another opens. But often we look so long so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us.
~Helen Keller~
Don't Follow Your Dreams, Chase Them.
~Richard Dumb~
To help celebrate Pixies and Bears first ever blog party, I am giving away your choice of any hair accessory from my shop...just leave a comment on this post telling me what inspires you!
Winner will be picked this Sunday, August 15th :)
Thank you Lindsay for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your Blog Party, you are an amazing person and friend!
xoxo~Meg

ReplyDeleteI find lots of things inspiring, but at the moment, I find your Helen Keller quote particularly inspiring. It's so true, very often we stand looking backwards regretting, wishing, even loving.... and something new and fresh is waiting if we would just turn around and step forward.

Forcing myself to try new things is always super inspiring. Even more so when I find out how easy that new things comes to me or that I am actually goood at it!
ReplyDeleteI am inspired by nature, I too have been in a bit of a creative rut lately with our little guy, I stare at my paintbrushes many times in a day but am so busy entertaining the wee one for now.
ReplyDeleteI live by the motto, "There is no harm in trying." I have been through a lot in the past few years, and I realize failure is not really a bad thing. When I fail at one thing, something else always comes along for me to try. Life for me, is a lot of "hit and miss". And I try not to ever give up.
ReplyDeleteMy inspiration comes from all kinds of different sources. Now that I am actually journaling and doing some creative things I find that along the years I have pulled from many things to be creative. Being a Girl Scout leader, taking long walks in the woods (not alone of course) including hiking, sitting outside watching nature (we back up to woods), and everyone's crafts and ideas in this blog world.
ReplyDeleteluv your "hair art"!
Your items are adorable! And I find inspiration in the little things all around us. Things like a flower or someone laughing can really be inspiring if you take the time out to notice! (:

What inspires me? Nature, fresh air and quiet time to let my mind wander.
The bow head peice is amazing :). May sound weird but left overs inspire me. I hate throwing out ANYTHING that can still be used for something else. I have the sparkles that came in a birthday card to use for something or other. I work in a functions room and I just brought home a pile of boxes with pretty designs to reuse!
ReplyDeleteMy awesome family and friends inspire me! My writing inspires me. Coca Cola inspires me. Well, more like..if I don't have Coca Cola, then I don't function. haha
