Buntings and Quilts

I am seriously loving them right now. I so badly want to make a quilt this year, it's one of my goals for 2010. I heard it was a lot of hard work, so when I start one I'll probably start easy and get a kit. I missed out on Rachel's quilt kits, bummed :( Hope I can find another kit, anyone have any ideas? Here is some awesome inspiration of some beautiful quilts!

I've been thinking of making a cute mini-bunting with mints and whites for the border of my room, I think I found the inspiration I needed to get started on one!! Here's some bunting eye candy! Love!!

What are you loving lately??

Happy Monday!!!

xoxo,
Lindsay

  4. I finished my first quilt not so long ago. It is only little. It is a pram quilt for my future child. I made a girls one and have a boys one planned too. Starting small is a good way to get into making quilts I think. I found it was overwhelming just making a little one so making a big one would have completely freaked me out. If you make a big one go for an easy design such as large squares of fabric because that would be easier to make. Can't wait to see how you go with your first quilt!

  5. I love quilts too! i don't know how to quilt even tho my mom is an awesome quilter! I need to take advantage of my free quilting classes aka mommy ha! and make one for myself.

If I make one I hope it looks a little like the things she does: http://sewtakeahike.typepad.com/sewtakeahike/

  7. So funny, I just finished making a teeny tiny little bunting for a toy camper just before reading this. I also want to make a quilt this year but I'm super intimidated.. I think I'd go for a kit too, I'd love to get my hands on one of Rachel's. I'm blogging my mini bunting soon if you're interested :)

  12. Loving all the pics of the quilts and I have always loved the mini "flags". I am so confused on why they are called bunting? Do you know?

I know Janel posted a mini one that I think is so so cute and I know you will make a cute one also. I love when people double them up ( one higher than the other). I hope that gives you an idea. love ya---gina

  15. Oh I would soooooooo love to make a quilt...but sewing is not one of my strong skills..hmmm let's just say absolutely no skills in that department. My grandma tried to teach me to make a quilt way back when and I think I did 10 stitches and she said in a loving way, "just leave it with me dear and I'll finish it"....hehehe...
    Have a great day!

  24. I love this post! i really love the patchwork quilt from Rice DK - it made me want to learn how to quilt because I could never afford/justify spending £200 on a quilt! I would be there forever making one big enough though. Im stealing these pictures for my inspiration board xo
