Shop Update!!!!!

It has been way too long since my last shop update. This weekend I shook my tail feather and got to work on my Christmas/Seasonal Badges and love the way they turned out. I have slowly been adding new media to my badges. Acrylic paint, glitter glue, glitter paint, pom poms, bows and Snow-Tex are just a few of the things I have been working with recently :)

Here are the badges you can find in my shop!!

And a few ornaments :)

I may or may not be adding new designs to my ornaments this week depending on time.

AWESOME NEWS!! Any orders before December 15th get a FREE gift... hint hint lip butter :) Also, a few lucky customers may get something extra extra special as well :)

Happy Shopping!!!

Gettin' It On...

With my craftiness. Wow what a teaser right? Sorry.

Any who!! I made a few things recently I had to share!!! Firstly, I made this cute feather pen cozy for Janel from a tutorial (The Perfect Pear, a super cute blog!!!!)  I found :) It came out soooo cute!!

Then I had a trade with Court for some cutie postcards she sells in her shop. She wanted a badge so I decided to surprise her with a custom one. A replica of her tattoo!! I love love the way it turned out :)

I also got a custom order from sweet Sophie for a Sushi Roll Badge. At first I was not sure how I would pull it off. After lots of brainstorming I made this :) Cute yeah??

Maybe I'll do more custom badges, I'm really diggin' it :)
Off to create!

Cause Update and October Sponsor Spots

I know a lot of you have seen on my blog and shop, the badges and sponsor spots I've been selling for multiple causes.

I made the First donation today to the Skin Cancer Foundation (money raised from September's Sponsor spots and Skin Cancer Badges so far) and we raised a total of $91.00!!! YAY!!

Also we raised $84.00 with the Guatemala Badges for Adam and Janel's Bringing Home Pita fund!! Isn't that amazing!!!??

Don't forget we have a MS Awareness badge that goes to Jamie's 'Team Inspired' as well!! :)

I still have plenty more of the these badges in my shop to continue Raising Awareness as well as helping towards Bringing Pita Home to Adam and Janel!

This brings me to October's Sponsor spots and Badges!! The cause for October is Breast Cancer.  100% of the proceeds made from the Badges and Sponsor Spots goes towards Breast Cancer Awareness!! Not only is it a great way to advertise for your blog, but it's for a great cause too!! Your blog button will be displayed under sponsors for the entire month of October and you get a Limited Edition Badge!! If you don't have a blog button, you could always purchase the badge separately :)

Sponsor Spots for a Cause

In Oct 2009 my mom was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on her face. It was in the corner of where her right eye & nose meet. It was the size of the tip of your ring finger. It had some raised clear edges, nothing discolored & sometimes itched, hurt & bled. My mom never expected to hear this news, she actually went in for another spot on her side which was unrelated. My friend Shannon was the nurse and after the Dr. left the room she asked Shannon about the spot. Shannon immediately told my mom it was skin cancer. The Dr. had overlooked it when she scanned my mom with the special glasses they use. So if you suspect something and the Dr. doesn't say anything, bring it to their attention.

In Nov 2009 she went to a special plastic surgeon who performed Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This has a 95-97% cure rate. My mom did go through a swollen face/nose and some black eyes. She has barely a scar and now she is very conscience of being out in the sun. She has a follow up apt at the end of this month. We are in hopes there are no other spots, but she has noticed some that she is concerned about.

Its something you never really think about until it hits home, so I would like to do my part and help raise awareness for others. With summer in full swing I think this is the best time to do so. The American cancer society estimated that in 2008 there were 8240 fatalities in the US resulting from skin cancer. While skin cancer is very serious and dangerous it is also treatable. If detected early it is almost 100% curable. It is important that people are aware of the signs of skin cancer. What looks like a mole could very well be cancer. Take the time to apply sun screen if you plan on being outdoors for an extended period of time and ask your doctor about any moles or spots you may have questions about.

With that being said, I would like to announce that for $5 you can purchase a sponsor spot (your blog button will be displayed on my blog for the entire month of September) that comes with a Limited Edition skin cancer ribbon Badge from my shop. All proceeds will go to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

It’s great advertisement for your blog, while helping out a great cause. If you don’t want a sponsor spot, you also have the option of buying just the badge. I put up separate listings for these, and they are only 4$. All proceeds will still be donated to the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Journal Award Badges

I was asked by Janel the other day to make a few badges for her Journaling Class. Award badges for different categories. I love love love how they turned out. Most of the designs I retired, so they are unique to Janel's class. I will however, be making more of the computer ones. Those will be posted in my next update :)

Here is how she described the awards, straight from the class blog:

* Kind Words Badge- this badge will be given to the person we feel leaves the most kind and encouraging comments on this blog or on the Flickr pages :)

* The Unbelievable Uploader Badge- this badge will be given to the person who posts their journal pages daily!! This can be on the Flickr page or on their blog. Someone who is diligent in sharing their pages :)

* The Loyalty Badge- This badge will go to our "all around" most active participant (chats, flickr, comments, giveaways...you can find this person there)

* The Fan Fave Badge- This badge will go to the journal page that is the class' favorite!! This page's creativity is above and beyond :)

* The Helping Hands Badge: This badge is for the person who is always there giving suggestions and helping their classmates and me out!!

There is a surprise badge too!!! I can't reveal it just yet!! I'll show it soon though :)
