It's a Dangerous job....

but someones gotta do it right? I played the tooth fairy last night for my son. He lost his front tooth and little did I know I would be going on adventure of my own. I would post pictures of the destruction I was about to face, but I refuse to claim this kinda mess was even in my house...

ok scene.

I was laying in bed last night watching Mad Men (still on season 2, no spoilers please) relaxing and winding down from my busy day. I get a text from my mom that says "Don't forget to play toothfairy tonight for Hayden, do it before your Ambien kicks in" (Yes folks, I am an insomniac and take meds to fall asleep. GASP!!!!) My response is something to the affect of "Crap!!!!!" (or maybe something similar I won't write here.)

I run downstairs to get some $$ and a baggie to put it in (I don't want it falling behind the bed or anything). and continue my quest to his room. Keep in mind, I have alllll the lights out and wooden floors so I'm trying to find that *sweet spot* where it doesn't creak. So as I'm hopping from foot to foot (I'm wearing my thick socks so I can be sneaky) and making my way to his room I'm thinking this will be quick and easy.

I make it to his door.... and my eyes are starting to adjust to the darkness but just enough to see the floor is completely black and there are *lumps* (toys hidden in the darkness waiting for my demise) everywhere.

Note: My son has about 200+ hot wheels cars.... Can you see where this is going???

So I start my way to his bed that's across the room (at this point I feel as if I'm about to cross a pond where the crocodiles are waiting at your heels for you to slip off those slippery rocks).

First step goes ok

Second Step I nudged some books with my toes and made a little noise so I freeze for about 5 seconds.. *Hayden stirs but doesn't wake* At this point my heart is pounding. (WTF it's a tooth, I'm not burglarizing a house!!)

Third Step... *whew*

Fourth step... ohhhh pretty good, this is easier than I thought

NOTE: this is where my overconfidence got the best of me

Fifth Step.. The middle of my foot came straight down on a hot wheel car. !&@&% I kept thinking in my head The tooth-fairy does NOT curse!!!

sixth step... I went down... I caught myself right before I hit the floor at the edge of his bed. At this point I felt pretty defeated and wanted to just give up but knew I had a duty and I was going to DO IT!!!

Luckily the toothfairy caught a break and Hayden had the great mind to have the little baggie that contained his tooth sticking out of his pillow and at easy reach. I switched out the tooth and headed back.

Long story short I started to fall again on my way back but caught myself on the wall... then I ran out...

What is Hayden doing today??? CLEANING HIS ROOM!!! This morning he ran up to me with a fistful of quarters exclaiming "Look what the toothfairy left me!!!!" He was so happy and I knew right then and there it was worth the bruises I ensued.

He then says "I heard the toothfairy last night but didn't look, I didn't want her to disappear. I thought you said she flew? I heard her walking around in my room"

First day of 1st grade and missing a front tooth :)

That's my story for Friday :) Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

P.S. Posting a Craft Room De-Stash GIVEAWAY in a few days!!!! It's going to be my biggest ever!!!!!

P.S.S Shop update coming next week :)

Felt Badge Book

It's here!! A super cute and innovative way to store you badges, the Badge Felt Book!! This Elite version is for the most avid badge collector. 100% handcrafted and hand-stitched down to each embellishment strategically placed on each page. This beautifully designed felt book is a great addition for your felt badges. A great place to store them and keep them in perfect condition. You can attach and reattach badges over and over again!

After making this I realized how much work it actually took. I decided this will be the only one I make of this size. I made this completely from scratch and LOVE how it turned out. There will be smaller versions available later this year.

Front and back cover are made of felt and sturdy cardboard which gives your book stability and strength needed to hold your badges. Front cover has 2 wood grain fabric hearts hand-stitched for the perfect added touch. Inside embellishments include ruffled hand-stitched fabric, buttons, fleece circles and ribbons.

I love how the fabric and ribbons stick out of the book for some added character.

Book measures 9x10in. and holds up to 40 Badges. (5 per page, front and back)

Are you ready for Fall? [Recipe]

I've shared this recipe on my blog before (sometime last year) but wanted to repost because it's soooo good and anything pumpkin related reminds me of Fall.

Pumpkin-Raisin Bread

3 1/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground nutmeg
2 1/2 cups solid pack pumpkin puree
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup raisins (or more.. I always add a bit extra)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 cups white sugar
2/3 cup water
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 tsp brown sugar

1.Grease and flour 3 7x3 in pans. Preheat oven to 350.

2. Measure flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and spices into a large bowl. Stir to blend. Add pumpkin, water, vegetable oil, eggs and raisins. Beat until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pans.

3. Bake approximately 1 hour

It comes out sooooo moist and full of flavor!!
In other news... I'm almost finished with something I've been working on for awhile (that means since Saturday). Hopefully I will have it completely done by tonight and posted and ready for Thursday :) EEEk!!

So Proud...

of my Momma :) Last week I posted this DIY from Heather during my Blog Party. It was to make a Stylin' Purse Pocket Notebook. As soon as my mom saw this DIY, she made it for me. When I got it in the mail the other day, I fell in love!! She did such an amazing job, so I had to show it off!!! I went and took some pictures real fast to share :)

Here is the front

The back

When you open it up :)

Close up, you can see she lined the edges with washi tape which makes it soooo pretty!

All the colorful pages in different sizes to give it some character :)

Isn't it gorgeous??

I think it took her about 4ish hours to make, but that's with LOTS of breaks in between. Thank you sooo much Mom!! I love the colors and the fabric, you did awesome!!!!

Did anyone else make anything from the Blog Party DIY's?? If you did I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see them!!!

Back to work, I'm working on something super amazing that I should be posting very soon :)

My Craft Studio

Time for my most favorite room of the house!! This is where I let all my creativity and imagination go wild! I have posted about my craft studio before, so this room may be familiar to some of you :) I am in the process of still hanging some paintings and finding room for others. I like the spacey feel so I'll be moving a lot of this stuff upstairs into other rooms :) I apologize in advance for the weird lighting on these pictures...

Ok so this is what you see as you walk down stairs

Close up of my inspiration wall that I look at everyday.

My stationary section

My instax inspiration, I'll be adding TONS more as I take them. I'm hoping to have it wrap around the room eventually!

This is behind my desk :) Gorgeous painting right??

This table is for all my shop stuff :)

Shop binders and goodies

This is the other side of my craft room, mainly supplies

I have way too much stuff, I'll be having a HUGE craft room de-stash GIVEAWAY very SOON!!! (yay!)

Yes, I fold my tissue paper and organize it...

MMMM felt!!! I have so much I don't even know what to do with it all!!

Hope you enjoyed my craft studio tour!!

Wanna come over and make things??

Kaylee's Room

Yay for another round of the Blog Home Tour! Today is a guest room or child's room so I did Kaylee's room. Hayden's was a disaster!! We are actually in the process of changing her room into a toddler room so that's why there is a mix of fairies and ladybugs. I'm sad to be saying bye to the crib and moving to the "big girl" bed. We are also about to repaint from light pink to lavender.

Where she gets her beauty rest :)

This is what she sees from her bed. I had a cute idea of making her some bow holders over a year ago for all her cutie bows :)

You can kinda see the custom drawing we had of her made

Her cutie dresser

Close up of some of the stuffed animals

Some shelves I made her, it was unfinished wood and I went to town with paint, glitter spray, wooden letter, foam, stickers, and ribbon! So cute!

View of her door, the pics on the right are of my parents and me when I was a baby

I would love to see what everyone else's home tour looks like!! Link it to me in the comments so I can check it out!

P.S. I figured out why I was having computer problems.. Apparently taking my camera USB out of my computer without "safely ejecting" it... is a problem... Lesson learned.. Scare is over and I backed up EVERYTHING!! *phew*

The Master Bedroom

So here is a little tour of our bedroom. It's quite small because the bed takes up most of it. But it's my second (first being craft room) favorite place to be :) This is what you see when you walk in...

Where the *magic* happens

I still need to hang these up, they will replace the FAMILY above the T.V. I think I'm going to move that to the living room. I'm actually having a custom made right now that will go on the left side of our portrait :)

My bedside table :) All my journal and pen pal things.. speaking of.. I have some letters to respond to!

Yea, I watch t.v in bed every night.. great way to unwind :)

P.S. I had a mini-crisis (and HUGE freak-out) today with *almost* losing everything on my laptop... Thankfully crisis was averted...barely (I am still actually having issues...)... The 3 hours without my laptop (and thinking that I would lose 6 months of pictures and all my shop stuff) made me realize how much I depend on technology and *no* viruses.. Point proven.. *going to back-up now*
